Farm / Livestock Visits

Why Rafiki

Your farm. Your schedule.
Our care.

Running a farm is not a small thing. Your days are full, your animals are many,
and the last thing you need is the added stress of transporting livestock to a clinic.

That’s why we come to you. Our fully equipped mobile unit brings professional
veterinary care directly to your farm — same qualified vets, same standard of
care, just delivered where your animals actually live.

Whether you have a small backyard flock, a dairy operation, or a mixed farm —
we’re here to keep your animals healthy, your productivity up, and your
operation running smoothly.

The bigger picture

We understand what’s at stake

Farm animals aren’t just pets — for many families and businesses, they’re a livelihood.
A sick cow, an infected flock, or an outbreak that spreads through your herd isn’t just
an animal welfare issue. It’s a financial one.

It affects your income, your family, and the people who depend on what you produce.
When you call us out, we’re not just thinking about the animal in front of us —
we’re thinking about the whole picture. Your herd. Your farm. Your bottom line.

  • Good veterinary care on a farm isn’t an expense — it’s an investment
  • Prevention costs far less than treating an outbreak
  • Healthy animals are productive animals
  • Consistent care builds a stronger herd over time

What we do on farm visits

Every visit is shaped around what you actually need

No two farms are the same, and we don’t treat them that way. From routine prevention
to urgent care — here’s what we help with.

Routine Health Checks & Herd Assessments

Thorough checks on individual animals or full herd assessments — looking for early signs
of illness, nutritional deficiencies, or anything quietly developing before it becomes
a bigger problem. We’d rather be the first call than the last resort.

Vaccinations & Disease Prevention

We’ll build a vaccination schedule tailored to your animals, your region, and your
specific risks — then come out to administer everything on-site.

Diagnosis & Treatment of Illness

We carry diagnostic equipment and treatments on every visit — assess, diagnose,
and begin treatment the same day where possible. Respiratory, digestive, hoof
problems, parasitic infections — we handle it all.

Deworming & Parasite Control

One of the most common and costly farm problems — and one of the most manageable.
We’ll set up a deworming programme that actually works for your animals and environment.

Reproductive Health & Breeding Support

Pregnancy diagnosis, assistance during difficult births, treatment of reproductive
conditions, and guidance on improving breeding outcomes — whatever stage your
animals are at, we’re here.

Nutritional Guidance

What your animals eat directly affects how they grow, produce, and stay healthy.
Honest, practical advice on feeding — no one-size-fits-all lectures, ever.

Post-Treatment Follow-Up Visits

Recovery needs monitoring on a farm. We schedule follow-ups to check that treatment
is working, adjust where needed, and make sure your animals are genuinely on the mend.

Health Certificates & Documentation

Health certificates and documentation for livestock movement, sale, or export
where required. Just let us know what you need when you get in touch.

Emergency Farm Calls

A difficult birth, a sudden illness, an animal in obvious distress — some things
can’t wait. We prioritise emergency calls and get to you as fast as we can.
If you think it’s an emergency, call us right away.

Our approach

Working with you,
not just for you

One thing we’ve learned from working with farmers is this — you already know your animals.
You notice when something’s off before most vets would. You know who’s eating, who’s
lagging behind, who hasn’t been themselves lately.

That knowledge is incredibly valuable, and we genuinely want to work with it, not around it.
When we come to your farm, we want a conversation — not just a transaction. Tell us what
you’ve noticed. Tell us what’s been worrying you. The more we understand your setup,
the better we can support you.

We’re not here to make things complicated. We’re here to be a practical, reliable
partner — year-round.

Common questions

A few things farmers often ask us

Do you cover areas outside Kampala?
We’re primarily based in Kampala but do cover surrounding areas. Give us a call and
let us know where you are — we’ll do our best to get to you or point you in the right
direction if we can’t.
How quickly can you get to us in an emergency?
We treat farm emergencies as a priority. Response time depends on your location
and what else is happening, but we’ll always be upfront about when we can arrive
and what to do in the meantime.
Can you help with a whole herd, or just individual animals?
Both. We do individual treatment as well as whole-herd health programmes. Many of
our farm clients start with one sick animal and end up on a regular programme once
they see the difference consistent care makes.
We’ve never had a vet visit our farm before — where do we start?
Start with a call. We’ll have a chat about your farm, your animals, and what you’re
looking for. From there we’ll arrange an initial visit — no pressure, no jargon,
just a practical conversation.
Do you provide documentation for animals being sold or transported?
Yes. We provide health certificates and relevant documentation for livestock movement,
sale, or export where required. Just let us know what you need when you get in touch.

Your farm deserves proper care too

You don’t have to wait until something goes wrong to call us. We’re here for the
routine stuff too — the check-ups, the vaccinations, the prevention work that keeps
problems from showing up in the first place.
